Recovery Basics
As with any other form of invasive surgery, the body requires rest and time to heal, so expect at least two weeks of downtime. This means bed rest for the first few days along with prescription pain medications to relieve any discomfort. Upon returning to work, you will need to avoid strenuous activity and abstain from exercise and heavy lifting for at least three more weeks. Your surgeon will schedule follow-up appointments throughout your recovery period to ensure all is going as expected.
What are the common risks associated with necklift procedure?
All surgery involves the risk of complications and undesirable outcomes. Those specific to neck lift surgery include but are not limited to; transient or permanent nerve injury to both sensory and motor nerves of the lower face and neck, post-operative bleeding, poor wound healing, wound infection, and poor scarring. A small percentage of patients will have prolonged swelling and may have an unsatisfactory result requiring revision surgery.
